Rolags are listed in 1oz increments with discounts depending on how much you buy.
About the fiber choices: Any of the fibers that we sell as undyed combed top are available to be used in our rolags.
To make ordering easier, we have listed a drop-down menu with the most popular choices.
We recommend using *Superwash* Merino or BFL if you do not want your fiber to felt. Merino is one of the softest wools out there, and is perfect for next-to-skin wear. BFL is slightly more coarse, but allows for stronger, more durable garments and easier felting.
SW Merino/Tencel is an incredible blend that shines like silk (tencel is made of wood pulp and is wonderful to work with).
Punis and rolags are a very fun way to spin fiber. They are easier to hold onto than big art batts and all of the drafting work has already been done for you. They may look confusing, but this is actually my favorite way to spin fiber! I usually spin my fiber straight from the locks, so whenever I get a chance to spin some of my rolags it's a real treat.
Joining them together is as simple as touching it to the fiber as it spins, and this way of spinning creates predictable, gorgeous variations in your hand-spun yarn. If you prefer to felt, feel free! Rolags can be felted as-is (think dreads) or pulled apart and used in wet felting or needle felting.
